Zachary Abbott is a self-taught Canadian artist, who uses his unique vision of the world as his inspiration to create. Although born in Alberta, Zachary’s family spent much of his childhood years living in Senegal and Kenya, which provided him the opportunity to experience life beyond the “typical” small town Canadian lifestyle.

Zachary’s style originates from his love of hip hop culture. The underground, rebellious nature piqued his interest in creating his own tags, much of which he hid from his parents under his bed during his adolescent years. These simple tags quickly evolved into adopting the intricate art of graffiti, which he practiced on a much bigger scale once his family moved back to Alberta. This is where his art became his own, as he and his friends would practice bigger projects in friends’ garages, doing murals and other large scaled pieces.

Now a Vancouver resident, Zachary combines his style with his affinity for nature, primarily centered on his passion for snowboarding and the mountains. Zachary continuously challenges himself by creating art using whatever resources are close by. From cardboard to vinyl records to public mural spaces, Zachary’s art distinguishes itself from other artists and shows the viewer who he is. Whichever medium he decides to use on a daily basis, there is no doubt that Zachary’s hand and mind is behind his incredible, raw art form.
